Phillips screwdriver, lint-free cloth, PVC gloves, and a brand-new print head.
After moving the print head to the center position, turn off the printer power and unplug the power cord to ensure the device is completely powered down, then put on PVC gloves.
Move the print head: Before turning off the power, first move the print head to the center position on the slide rail for subsequent operations.
Remove external components: Disassemble the printer casing, then remove the ink cartridge protective cover and the ink cartridge assembly.
Remove the old print head.
Loosen the four screws securing the print head in sequence.
Hold the sides of the print head with both hands and gently remove it.
Carefully remove the ribbon cables inserted on both sides of the print head.
Position and install: Remove the new print head, align it with the positioning pin, and lower it vertically.
Transfer ink cartridge (critical step): Remove the ink cartridges one by one from the old print head and insert them into the new print head.
Note: The color order of the ink cartridges must strictly match that of the old print head.
XP600 model (from left to right): black, blue, red, white, yellow, white.
Power-on test: Connect the power cord, turn on the power, and print a test strip.
Software Calibration: Perform vertical calibration in the ZRIP software to verify accurate print head installation.
If installed correctly: Fully tighten the four screws to secure and complete the replacement.
If installed incorrectly: Gently adjust the print head position, reprint for testing and inspection, and continue adjusting until calibration is successful before fully tightening the screws.
Please move the print head to the far left, then open the left-side door. Using the viewing mirror below, you can clearly inspect the condition of the print head.
If ink stains are found around the print head, fold one corner of the non-woven cloth and apply a small amount of dedicated cleaning solution. Gently wipe the nozzle surface in a single direction—never back-and-forth. Replace the clean section of the cloth after each wipe to prevent re-depositing dirt onto the nozzle.
For dried ink residue on the edges or around the nozzles, use a sponge-cleaning rod dipped in cleaning solution and hold it over the stain for 10–20 seconds to soften the ink. Then gently wipe away with a non-woven cloth. Afterward, return the carriage to its original position and run a nozzle check to confirm normal print lines. This helps effectively prevent clogging caused by accumulated debris. To ensure optimal machine performance, we recommend conducting routine inspections of the print head every two to three days.
When dry ink residue appears on the edges or around the nozzles of the print head, dip the tip of the sponge rod into the cleaning solution, then lightly scrape off excess liquid against the bottle opening.
Place the damp sponge rod over the dried ink spot and leave it for 10–20 seconds to allow the cleaning solution to fully dissolve stubborn ink. Once softened, gently roll or wipe the sponge rod in one direction to remove debris. Replace the sponge rod after each use—each rod should be used only once—to avoid cross-contamination. For any remaining ink stains, follow up with detailed cleaning using a non-woven cloth.
